  • Report on radiation safety incidents to the local authorities (EA).
  • Maintain the record of classified workers trainings and develop and conduct awareness sessions for non-classified workers.
  • Ensure radiography/ radiation service providers used on site are made familiar with the requirements of the company radiation control guideline.
  • Maintain all records related to radiation monitoring.
  • Obtain/renew the necessary permit from EA for all radioactive source installations.
  • Advise Radiation Safety Committee (RSC) on the implementation of the safety measures and personal protection devices to be used and on the selection of appropriate monitoring devices.
  • Ensuring that emergency plans are established and that they are practiced regularly; report any emergency related to radioactive source to the authorities.
  • Participate in Investigation and reporting of any incidents, and accidents of which radiation may be involved.
  • Advise Management through RSC on the authorization and training of persons for work involving ionization radiation.
  • Ensure that radioactive storage areas and work areas involving the use of radioactive sources are properly identified, cordoned off with barriers, warning notices in English and Arabic; posted at all access points, restrict entry of unauthorized personnel and complies with all local regulations.
  • Coordinate with the authorities to ensure the compliance to their regulations.
