Job overview
- Commissioned Oman Gold/Antimony Project, and optimized the process in Smelting department, this department has two sections namely: Calcine furnaces for gold/copper smelting/refining and Reduction furnaces for antimony refining and casting
- Under Reduction furnace, antimony trioxide is taken from either crude antimony silo or impure antimony silo which is blended with appropriate flux, i.e.
- Sodium carbonate and coke, and smelted in 3.5MVA DC arc furnace; reduced antimony molten metal is tapped into Rotary converters for further refining and cast into ingots when on specification according to customer’s needs
- Prevented equipment fires and alerted plant personnel regarding hazards.
- Partnered with scheduling department to design and implement changes to production schedule to allow for greater product processing.
- Administered processes, resolved issues and recommended improvements for all structure methods.
- Operated reduction furnaces,rotary convertors, casting conveyors and schenck system equipment
