- Supports patient diagnosing and treatment by installing, testing, calibrating, and troubleshooting biomedical equipment & Dialysis Machines training users; maintaining safe operations & performing safety checks.
- Responsibilities in Dialysis Unit:
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of Dialysis Machines clinically as well as technically.
- Provide training to new nursing staff on Dialysis Machine installed in the unit.
- Coordination with service personnel, who is responsible for Dialysis Machines.
- Ensure proper functioning of dialysis machine before the treatment.
- Have a good knowledge about the CRRT & Peritoneal Dialysis.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain Reverse Osmosis (RO) water treatment systems dedicated to dialysis units, ensuring continuous supply of ultrapure water.
- Conduct daily checks for water conductivity, pH, hardness, chlorine/chloramine levels, and microbiological parameters.
- Troubleshoot and rectify system faults such as pressure drops, flow issues, and membrane fouling to minimize dialysis downtime.
- Follow up the Preventive maintenance schedule and calibration schedule for Dialysis Machines.
- Have a good technical knowledge in Fresenius 5008,4008H,2008K, B-Braun & Gambro Dialysis Machines.
- Assembles and prepares the dialysis extracorporeal circuit according to protocol and dialysis prescription.
- Tests monitors and machine functions, including alarms, conductivity and temperature. Sets monitors and alarms according to unit and manufacturer protocols.
- Responsibilities in Bio-Medical:
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of Biomedical Equipment clinically as well as technically.
- Perform safety checks, repairs, calibrations and preventive maintenance on clinical equipment.
- Coordination with service personnel of various medical equipment companies.
- Troubleshooting & maintenance of Central Monitoring System.
- Known to use Performance analyzers & Electrical safety analyzers.
- To follow up with the vendors for any breakdown under annual maintenance contract equipments.
- Responsible for patient diagnostic equipment such as: ECG, Monitors & Ophthalmologic equipments.
- Updating the inventory of all types of medical equipments installed in the hospital.
- Maintain warranties and service contracts where applicable.
