- Inspection onboard visually and thickness test of material by UT / depth gauges as per work scope
- Preparation of defect report with remedial actions
- Identification the scope of work from Owner’s specifications, tenders, work lists and on-board and shop inspections
- Preparation and updating of ship’s structural repairs and files for miscellaneous steel repairs
- Preparation of proposal drawings for approval

- Liaison with Owner representative, SRM, Invoicer, other trades and other sections of Steel Department

- Action upon other job related duties as assigned by the section head., structural surveyor and Senior work preparator for major maintenance (refit) and AMPs (Annual maintenance period) for RNO vessels
- My concerned responsibilities are as follows;
- Structure survey of RNO mild steel / aluminum vessels and preparation of defects reports and recommendation of remedial actions
- Thickness gauging of mild steel and aluminum structure by using DM4 and Cygnus thickness test gauge
- Estimation of materials and man-days
- Marking of defects onboard with accurate size for workshops
- Draft and boot top line marking
- Preparation of hull structure work package for major refits
- Pre-refit material assessments.
