Duties/Job Description:
- Check the assigned unit’s equipment to ensure safe operation of the Refinery, adjust and report any deficiencies to the area manager.
- Supervise and directs safe preparation of equipment for maintenance and inspection and monitor the work to ensure compliance with work permits.
- Maintains efficient operating conditions and procedures to meet throughput, required product yield & quality.
- To respond to any operating problem or emergency by shutting down plant or taking necessary action to restore normal running with standard procedures and/or instruction from the area manager.
- Supervises and coordinates plant personnel in shutdown, startup and other major operational changes in accordance with standard procedures.
- Check all routine activities of the units (such as sampling, draining, pump changeover, heater operation, running jobs etc.)
- To handle different kinds of emergencies while maintaining plant routine operation, thus reducing time of plant.
- Assist in the investigation of operating problems as far as practical.
- To respond to any operating problem in accordance with standard procedures or instructions from the area manager.
- To ensure that all information relating to the operation of the plant during the shift is available to the area manager.
- Ensure that there is a comprehensive transfer of essential information at the shift handover to and from his shift.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as requested.
