Juma Al Jaradi

Dr. Juma Al Jaradi was educated at Sultan Qaboos University where he received his degree of Licentiate in Arts (Geography). He began his career an officer in Royal Air Force of Oman, following officer Cadet training at Royal Air Force College at Cranwell United Kingdom in February 1992. Al Jaradi holds two Master's degrees. The first degree was in Strategic Studies from University of Aberdeen in Scotland in 2004. The second in Defence Studies from King's College London in 2010. He received his PhD in International Relations from the University of Reading (UK) in December 2021.

Dr. Al Jaradi combines his military experience and academic qualifications to work as instructor and lecture at various military education and training institutions. From 2005 to 2008 he taught at Sultan Qaboos Air Academy. His teaching specialties are strategic and security studies, defence studies, air power, armed conflicts and conflict management. On July 2010 he was assigned as a member of the planning committee to establish National Defence College and to design national defence course curriculum. From 2012 to July 2017 he worked as Head of Strategic Studies Cell at National Defence College. In July 2017 promoted to Colonel and appointed as Director of Defence & Political Studies.
