Personal statement:
Caring about people, making a positive difference in their lives, and making them smile brings me an immense sense of satisfaction. This ongoing desire is what made me choose to become a dentist. Throughout my journey as a young dentist, my main goal has always been to provide my patients with the best health care I can offer with respect to their autonomy. I believe that working as a dentist would need a good, supportive, and motivating environment to consolidate my skills.

Throughout my time at the University of Otago, I have been heavily involved in the Otago University Omani Students’ Association in different positions, including Presidency, Activity Representative, and Media Representative.
Each of these roles have been invaluable to my ongoing development and helped add to my skill set.
It has improved my communication and leadership skills as well as my dedication and commitment in terms of time management and being a part of group work.
I learned how to best cope while working under pressure, deal with different personalities, and have a balanced scale between studying and being part of the association.
